The Direction of Accessibility Guidelines - What UX Pros Need to Know Webinar

Описание к видео The Direction of Accessibility Guidelines - What UX Pros Need to Know Webinar

In January 2021 the W3C published the first working draft of the W3C Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 3.0. This specification presents a new model and guidelines to make web content and applications accessible to people with disabilities.

WCAG 3.0 supports a wide set of user needs, uses new approaches to testing, and allow frequent maintenance of guidelines and related content to keep pace with accelerating technology change. WCAG 3.0 supports this evolution by focusing on users’ functional needs. These needs are then supported by outcomes and technology-specific methods to meet those needs.

Join Peter McNally from the Bentley University User Experience Center and special guest Jeanne Spellman, Co-leader for the W3C Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 3.0 Task Force, as we discuss:

• As a UX professional, why should I be interested?

• What is WCAG 3.0 and how does it relate to other versions, such as WCAG 2?

• How is WCAG 3.0 structured?

• What are the guidelines in this draft version?

• When will the final version will be available?

• Can I help out as the draft becomes final?
