The Predator has come to Gotham to hunt the most challenging game it can find, beginning with a prize winning boxer. The alien creature rampages through Gotham killing the most powerful and influential people and anyone protecting them while the police are helpless to stop it. Can even the Batman defeat the ultimate hunter, when he is the prey, and without breaking his vow to never kill? It will be the greatest test of his abilities to date, and trust me, it's also gonna be one hell of a fight.

This isn't just another hunt for a killer for Batman, as he is faced with an almost unstoppable foe far deadlier than anything he's ever faced before, and this is no ordinary trophy hunt for the Predator either, as both are faced with something they've never encountered before, and are forced to dig deeper into their skill sets and their endurance than ever in the quest for victory.

Dark Horse comics was best known for collecting a lot of sci fi and horror movie properties together and expanding their mythos. They had an incredibly successful line of comics officially based on Aliens, Predator, and several others, all of which would do crossovers with each other and with high profile superheroes through the 90's, but the trend with DC began with a bang here with Batman Vs Predator. And do keep in mind that Predator 2 had come out only a year before in 1990, so it's heavily influenced by that film, as Dark Horse didn't like to stray too far out of canon. The main appeal was giving audiences more of something they recognized while still telling new stories.
