Michael Faraday was a groundbreaking scientist who discovered many of the earliest seeds of what we know about electricity and electromagnetic energy today. You may already know of his cage that protects what’s inside from electric charges on the outside - or blocks certain RF energy from getting inside - but did you know he discovered another important effect magnets have on light and other electromagnetic energy, proving that light was electromagnetic in nature in the process?

One of the things we use this effect for today, called the Faraday effect or Faraday rotation, is the function of an RF component called a circulator. Today, join me as I demonstrate what a circulator is, how it works, and what you can use it for.
