This is Brett Killip´s Mazda RX-7 FD3S, a 300+Hp/10.000Rpm Rotary powered Naturally Aspirated machine, tackling Leadfoot Festival. Imported into the country in 2008 as a road car, this RX7 was stripped and built into a race car to run in the SS2000 series by Brett and his team. It runs a Green Brothers Racing-developed Mazda Rotary 13B peripheral port engine, 6 speed sequential gearbox and Koni shocks. In SS2000 trim it weighs approximately 1180 kg, so ballast weight is used to bring it up to minimum weight requirements. It runs a Link engine management system with data logging to keep the engine tune and temperatures under control. Here, we can watch all this right from the driver seat´s view and how Brett managed to break into 2018´s Top 10 of this unique Hillclimb event.
