Elemental-esque Vent Specimens is the final mission of Phaenna's Cosmic Exploration Elemental-esque EX+ sequential missions for Fisher. The goal is to catch the largest fish possible, a Fused Animus. This will require extensive mooching, GP management, and some other shenanigans.

Mission: Elemental-esque Vent Specimens
Hole: Fusingway Flow
Requirements: Any time and weather, but must have gotten gold in Elemental-esque Chasm Specimens in order to appear.
🚨READ PLEASE
This mission walkthrough assumes you have iLvl720 gathering gear and some melds on it for perception. I have not testing this mission in scrip gear, and so can not confirm if this walkthrough will work on lower-perception characters. I HIGHLY recommend eating some perception food if you are not melded or in the latest gathering gear.
📋Building AA stacks + Confusing Catfish
Start the mission and use Patience II, use a hi-cordial, cast out, and use Ambitious Lure up to 3 times (or until you see the unique message). Reel in any !! bites with Powerful Hookset. If it's a Confusing Catfish, use Spareful Hand. If it's a Crimplouse, use Surface Slap, then cast back out and the next !! bite will be a Catfish.
Repeat this until your Patience II buff runs out, and you have some Catfish stored as Swimbait and you have at least 5 Angler's Art stacks.
🦈Getting Intuition
Once you Patience II buff runs out, check your GP. You are going to ideally want 400GP for this part, minimum, as we'll need it for Double Hook. If you are close (you should be since your hi-cordial is off cooldown now), you can wait, but if you are past it, use Makeshift Bait, select a Confusing Catfish swimbait and cast out.
This mooch will have one of two bites at this point, Catfish (!!) or Specious Shark (!!!). Reel in any !! bites you get and continue to mooch them as much as you can. Whenever you get a !!! bite though, use Double Hook. This will give you the intuition for Fused Animus.
🎣Catching Fused Animus
Once you have intuition, it's back to mooching. You need a large-sized Fused Animus (and on the upper-end of large at that) in order to get gold. Fused Animus is a 19s+ !!! bite off a Confusing Catfusion mooch. A few things could happen here depending on your current state:
If you have some Catfish still stored, use Patience II, select a Catfish, and cast out. Mooch like before, but only reel in !!! bite after 19s, as these will be Fused Animus. NOTE: During intuition the possible bites off mooch are Catfusion (!!), Specious Shark (!!!, sub 19s), and Fused Animus (19s+).
If you do not have any Catfish stored, use Patience II, and catch a Confusing Catfish like before. Instead of storing it though, immediately mooch it and begin the mooch loop. Come back to here if you ever run out of Catfish to mooch anyways.
Repeat this for the duration of the intuition and mission until you get your Fused Animus.
🔍Why was my Fused Animus not gold?
There is a chance that with this method the Fused Animus you get is too small for Gold. Big-game Fishing can be used to secure gold, BUT it is a different approach to getting gold and it's a little rougher to do. For this you'd need to store up to 3 Confusing Catfish, then use Prize Catch and Big-game Fishing, and then cast out each Catfish, but ONLY reel in 19s+ !!! bites. This will guarantee you gold Fused Animus, but it's much more risky and longer to pull off.
Before attempt this mission I would (as stated before) check your gear and use any perception increasing foods you can before attempting to catch a Fused Animus.
