MEET THE SPEAKERS
Katherine Jernigan
Katherine Jernigan is the farmer outreach manager for Transfarmation. She has a background in sustainable agriculture and has grown food and worked with farmers for more than 10 years. She has a BA in environmental studies and a dual MBA and MS in sustainable food systems. Katherine is a relationship builder and collaborator focused on bringing people with diverse backgrounds and specialties together to achieve common goals. She works with Transfarmation farmers to develop and execute their plans for farm transitions and ensures they have the tools and support to be successful.

Dr. Kyle Gabriel
Dr. Kyle Gabriel is a Senior Research Associate at Kennesaw State University, he earned his B.S. in Biology from Florida Atlantic University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied and Environmental Microbiology from Georgia State University. His research, supported by various organizations, focuses on antimicrobial susceptibility, wildlife disease management, fungal pathogenesis, and mushroom cultivation. Dr. Gabriel has authored peer-reviewed articles, served as a journal reviewer, and developed scientific instruments for the CDC. He is the main developer of Mycodo, an open-source environmental control software, and co-founder and CTO of MycoLogic, specializing in automation and mushroom cultivation systems.
