The NanoMi Project: an open source electron microscope

Описание к видео The NanoMi Project: an open source electron microscope

Goldsmiths' seminar by Prof. Ray Egerton from the University of Alberta.

NanoMi is a project directed by NRC-Nano, a National Research Council of Canada laboratory in Edmonton. The goal is to develop and document a modular open-source electron microscope that researchers can build and possibly incorporate into other vacuum equipment. Using a thermionic electron source, we aim for a resolution of a few nm in SEM , STEM and TEM modes; UHV and field emission may be a future possibility. The talk describes current progress, along with some electron optics and electron-microscope history.

The seminar was held on 4th March 2021.
