Footages from CCTV captured in Kyiv, Ukraine showed many people struggling to walk downhill due to ice covering the street, pavements and pathways.

That’s nearly what residents of the Ukraine are getting.

Heavy rains and sub-zero temperatures have covered the Ukrainian capital Kyiv in ice.
The downpours which began earlier this week left surface water, which froze quickly creating vast areas of ice.

But not all the outcomes from this ice storm are lighthearted. The extreme weather has also left more than 170 towns in three regions without electricity, according to Ukrainian Emergency Services.

Videos captured in recent days have shown cars skidding on icy roads, pedestrians sliding down pavements and even a German diplomat skating to work.

In a CCTV footage, a girl pedestrian repeatedly tries, but fails to stay upright on pavement. It was reported that her brother was able to pick her up in that location and brought home safely.
