Jon discovered that due to American safety regulations, in late 1967 the "B" pillar on the MGB was modified for the MkII and on versions. They added an additional latch on the pillar to accommodate an added catch on the door All of this needed to be removed to match the Mk1 configuration.

1967 MGB Mk1 Roadster. Complete Body-off classic car restoration

I started off this process with basic automotive body repair knowledge. I use simple tools and techniques. In addition to purchasing some of the larger major panels from vendors such as Moss and Rimmer Brothers, I have created my own patch panels and done all the work myself. It will be a complete restoration of every aspect of a body off restoration such as: body panels, mechanical systems and complete wiring and interior trim.

I also appreciate that he creates all his own metal parts. Even large parts like Rocker panels. And he too doesn’t use a bunch of fancy tools either.
