This is the tenth in a new series of videos, providing advice, suggestions, and information for students and lifelong learners intending to engage in self-directed study of the ancient Cynic school of philosophy. I discuss why the Cynics would be useful, important, and worthwhile to study. I also suggest which of the works about the Cynics would be best to start with, and what other works you might move on to after those. There are motivations and methods important for understanding the Cynics, and I discuss keeping those in mind as you engage in study. I also suggest what problems or concerns you don't need to be overly concerned with when beginning study of the Cynics (though you might find it useful to consider them later).
