Today we are going to explore the Carlsbad Village. First stop on the list is the only place that is open this early, starbucks!
Welcome to the Carlsbad village. Today I’ll be taking you on a fun adventure to explore some of my favorite spots in the village including Mexican Restaurants, shopping locations and we’ll also take a look at what’s happening in the Carlsbad Village real estate market. Lots of new construction popping up!
Ok let’s talk about my top picks for Mexican Food.
First on my list is Pollos Maria’s located on Harding St which is a quick option if you need to grab your food and go, although, it also has a relaxing patio area if you decide to dine in for breakfast, lunch or dinner. My recommendation is to get the Chicken Burrito or the combo chicken burrito. I haven’t figured out the secret ingredient to their delicious chicken to make at home so I have to just keep going their to enjoy it. Also, if you’re a salsa person this place has 3 amazing options, two red and one green. I’m kind of weird and like to mix all of them together to make my perfect blend.
My second pick is a sit down restaurant called Norte. This Mexican Restaurant is located at the end of Carlsbad Village Dr near the beach and has both indoor and outdoor seating with a great authentic Mexican atmosphere. The bar area extends out into a back patio where you can enjoy a casual happy hour. If you’ve never been to Norte you’ll be surprised by their unique chips and salsa, well mostly the salsa. I love it..even though it’s more of a paste then a salsa, almost like a marinara sauce with some kick. I can’t guarantee you’ll love it as much as I do but it’s worth a try.
If you’re looking to do some shopping, check out the Village Fair. Located in the heart of the Historic Carlsbad Village, at the corner of Carlsbad Boulevard and Carlsbad Village Drive.
With its New England-style architecture, this plaza has over 36 stores including restaurants and a coffee shops that surround a family friendly fountain courtyard, located just a block from the beach and train station. Also, if you walk one block from the Village Fair to State Street you have a bunch of other options for shopping and dining including Juice shops like Choice Juicery and Beach City Smoothies, Restaurants, and local bars..and for you wine lovers there’s a popular wine bar called Oak Elixir that has a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Walk further north on State street and you’ll find Skylar’s Home and Patio Furniture which is home to some of the highest quality indoor and outdoor furniture. If you are looking for unique pieces for your home, this is a great spot to check out.
If you are interested in making the Carlsbad village area home. There is an influx of new homes that have just been built or are in the process of being finished. Take a look at some of these new builds in the area.
