Cutting slots in dowels for wa handles

Using dowels for the wa style (Japanese) handle construction works great. I have a video on that process here:    • How to fit a Wa Handle Part 1 - step ...  
I've never found a really good way to get the slots in the dowels but this new idea I came up with works pretty good.
