{ Guler - It was a small precolonial Indian hill state in lower Himalayas }

{ Kangra Style - Guler state is famous for the birthplace of Kangra Style in the first half of the 18th century when a family of Kashmir painters trained in Mughal painting style. The rise of Guler painting in starting is known as the early phase of Kangra Style }

{ Indigenous Style - Occurring naturally in a particular place }

{ Tempered Primitivism - (here) Basholi has moderate painting style, i.e. simple, natural, local indigenous style - these types of paintings are drawn here }

{ Headgear - A hat or other covering that is worn on the head }

{ Folio - A term used to describe the leaves of a manuscript book (rather than pages) }
