Defeated, Gong Gong, in his anger, struck Mountain Bu Zhou, causing the sky to collapse and the earth to crack. Nü Wa had no choice but to repair the damage. This tale reminds us that some natural events are beyond our control.

Gong Gong, the Water God, had disputes with the Yan Emperor's lineage. When Emperor Zhu turned to power, his ruling style provoked widespread resentment. Seeing an opportunity, Gong Gong wanted to usurp the throne. He united with other disgruntled deities, forming an army to attack the heavenly capital. Emperor Zhu summoned his allies to fight back, leading to a brutal war. As Gong Gong increasingly faced defeat, he retreated to the foot of Mountain Bu Zhou and decided to knock down this pillar that held up the heavens as a symbol of his defiance against Emperor Zhu.

This mythical tale is famous in folk legends, describing the clash between Gong Gong and Zhu Rong, and Gong Gong's furious assault on Mount Bu Zhou. The collapse of Mount Bu Zhou has become an enduring legend.
