Battle Bunkers were introduced to the Soviet factions in Yuri's Revenge as a powerful defensive structure. Costing only $500, they can be garrisoned with basic infantry, making them an excellent fortification.

Despite the Soviets having the weakest basic infantry, the Battle Bunker remains an effective defensive option. Its strength increases significantly when combined with Allied GIs or, even better, Yuri's Initiates. Initiates inside garrisoned buildings become incredibly powerful, capable of shredding almost anything within seconds.

In Red Alert 2, units inside structures couldn’t gain promotions from kills. However, this was changed in Yuri’s Revenge, allowing garrisoned infantry to earn promotions as they eliminate enemies. Additionally, units no longer need to evacuate for their promotions to take effect.
