Guilty Gear X [DC] - play as Testament

This is a playthrough using Testament in the Dreamcast version of Guilty Gear X. Read on below for more information...

Testament is the penultimate boss of the game, and is an unlockable playable character.

===== HOW TO UNLOCK TESTAMENT =====

There are a few ways to do this. The fastest way is through command inputs as explained below:

METHOD 1

On the title screen where it states "Press Start Button", press the following command:

Up, Up, Down, Left, Start

If you've done it correctly, you'll hear Testament's voice. Testament will be unlocked and available on the character select screen.

METHOD 2

Alternatively, use the following command instead to unlock both Testament and Dizzy. Do this on the same title screen:

Down, Right, Right, Up, Start

If you've done it correctly, you'll hear Dizzy's voice. Testament (along with Dizzy) will be unlocked and available on the character select screen.

===== TESTAMENT MOVES =====

Key: P = Punch; K = Kick; S = Slash; HS = Heavy Slash; QCF = Quarter Circle Forward; QCB = Quarter Circle Back; HCF = Half Circle Forward; HCB = Half Circle Back

THROW
- Screamer: when close, F + HS or B + HS

COMMAND NORMALS
- Back Scythe: F + P
- Vertical Scythe: F + HS

SPECIAL MOVES
- Phantom Soul: QCF + P (if hit unblocked, inflicts spell properties)
- High Phantom Soul: QCF + K (if hit unblocked, inflicts spell properties)
- Grave Digger: QCB + P
- EXE Beast Behind: HCF + S
- EXE Beast Front: HCF + HS
- Warrant: QCB + S (counter, if hit unblocked, causes poison properties)

OVERDRIVE (requires half Tension gauge)
- Nightmare Circular: HCB, F + HS (if hit unblocked, has poison properties)

INSTANT (requires full Tension gauge)
- Seventh Sign: P + K + S + HS to activate, QCF x 2 + HS to execute

===== GAME TRIVIA =====

---- In single-player mode, on Testament's bio screen, the move names are all stated as "Unknown".

---- In single player mode, on the route/stage screen, when you reach CPU Testament, the character has an own unique "pre-battle" music theme.

---- Testament was also a sub-boss in the prequel game, Guilty Gear on the PS1. This means that the character retains this status for GGX.
