Larry Loudmouf artist Greg Mike, a favorite of celebs including Justin Bieber and Diplo, has teamed up with several renowned artists to create digital murals displayed across the country to encourage voting. The street artist, whose Vote Loud digital mural went live in Times Square last week, told us hes working to send a powerful message that hopefully inspires people to get to the polls. I feel as an artist its important to utilize all the tools that I have at my disposal to encourage good, the 38-year-old recently told Page Six over the phone. My giant icon that Im most known for is a large square mouth, so as an artist Im constantly thinking, What is this mouth saying? What is it doing?Other artists participating in the project, curated by Jessica Goldman Srebnicks Goldman Global Arts and When We All Vote, include Shepard Fairey who famously designed Barack Obamas Hope posters during his 2008 presidential campaign Peter Tunney, Buff Monster and Kai. Greg Mike also expressed the importance of sharing art through social media amid the COVID-19 pandemic when people are on their phones more than theyre out on the street. My philosophy is always, by any medium necessary. I work in all types of mediums from massive hand-painted murals all the way to a digital format. Im a trained graphic designer so Im constantly switching from digital to analog, he said, adding that when COVID-19 hit, he created several digital pieces focused on safety. While Greg Mikes piece is currently in New York, every mural is on rotation in every participating city. The list includes Miami, Los Angeles, Cleveland, and Portland, Oregon.
