Android Phones API supports cells towers and GPS satellites Location that's why you have Apps for them to track you serving cell phone tower, i.e OpenSignalsMap. But for IPhone there is nothing like that but there is a way around that i have explained here using IPhone Field Test Mode. Each Cell Tower has a Unique Cell_ID and Lac_ID that needs to be translated into Lat/Long GPS coordinates to locate the serving cell tower of Cell Phone. Field Test Mode also shows the current signal strength, High -ve Values means Low Reception. whenever you drive or walk. your received signals strength becomes weaker but the signal strength of one of the neighbouring cell towers starts increasing, so the cell phone will switch to the hight signal strength, Low Traffic Cell Tower, so the things keep changing.
