A second candidate was yesterday revealed to be under investiation by the Gambling Commission for allegedly betting on a July election before the Prime Minister announced it.

Laura Saunders was yesterday revealed as the second Conservative candidate being investigated. The row deepended after it emerged that she is married to Tory campaign director Tony Lee, who is also allegedly being investigated and has taken a leave of absence.

Last week, another candidate Craig Williams admitted to having a flutter and called it a huge error of judgement.

Last night, Mr Sunak shared his anger with voters on a special edition of BBC Question Time.
