This week I visited Liege in #belgium to see how the #qualityoflife compares to that of the UK. Despite the city being shabby in places and there being many empty shops I found #liege to be a vibrant city with many nice shops and many restaurants, bars and cafes which seemed to be extremely busy. A new tram line is being built and the city has an outstanding station as well as several nice parks.
My overall impression is that Liege is a city which is improving quickly and where plenty of people seem to be able to afford to eat and drink out.
This is almost certainly because, since rents and property prices are so much lower in Belgium people have more disposable income.
