Homemade vanilla cake with chocolate icing

Hey everyone, in this video I'll share with you my mama recipe from many years ago and it's still around today. It's a homemade vanilla cake with chocolate icing.

Recipe:
1-2-3-4 cake
2 sticks butter
4 eggs
2 c sugar
3 c cake flour sifted
3 t baking powdered
1/2 t salt
1/2 t almond extract
1 t vanilla
1 milk

Cream butter, and sugar, mix well. Add eggs beating well. Alternate flour and milk, then add flavoring, mix.

Bake 350F 25- 30 minutes. Makes 3 layers

Chocolate Icing
3/4-1 c shortening
3/4 bag of powdered sugar
2 heaping tablespoons of cocoa
1t vanilla
water

Mix together add small amount of water until smooth.
