Stool is a very important thing that people usually don’t notice nowadays because nowadays people use the toilet in the western toilets. The stool gives us a lot of information about the health. If your stool is black, then you are losing blood from the internal organs, there can be a stomach ulcer and there can be a small intestine ulcer or colon ulcer . So that is a black stool. Then is the white stool. Usually patient has got a jaundice or a liver problem. If it is oily, then patient has probably got a pancreas problem. The consistency is important. If there is watery stool, then there is some absorption problem in the small intestine or some infection or colitis in the small or large intestine. So always look at the stool. It should be 1 or 2 in a day. There is chart called as a Bristol stool chart, where it is a lumpy stool, long lengthy stool, but it need not be always the same. The form can be very different, but persistent it can be very hard, it can be very liquidy or black, white or oily stool, then it means there is some problem in the health.
