Dropped by Special 9 in Gachibowli to evaluate whether the hype translates into actual value on the plate. The ambience is dim and leans more toward a bar vibe, but the service team operates with speed and humility.

What we tried:
• Maharaja Mutton Marag (1/3 portion) – Creamy, slightly thick, with tender mutton pieces. Tastes great but quantity feels low for the price.
• Pushpa Mutton Chops – The star performer. Strong flavours, great texture, and easily the standout of the visit.
• Mutton Biryani – Familiar Hyderabad biryani profile you’d get at Mehfil or Bawarchi. About 6 pieces, rice portion enough for two.
• Creamy Malai – Underwhelming, felt like Apricot Delight without the apricot.
• Jamun Weds Kheer – Average finish to the meal.

Service is quick, menu is limited but well focused, and pricing is on the higher side. If cost isn’t a concern, Special 9 is still worth exploring for its signature mutton dishes.
