India marked International Cheetah Day with a major conservation milestone, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the growing success of Project Cheetah. Launched three years ago to reintroduce the species after seven decades of extinction in India, the project now supports 32 cheetahs, including 21 cubs born on Indian soil. Officials say the animals are adapting well in Kuno National Park and Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary, with improving survival rates and rising tourism interest. The Prime Minister praised the project as a revival of India’s ecological heritage and thanked Namibia for its key role in helping restore the world’s fastest land animal.
