Notes:
Statistics is the science and art of collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions

The two primary types of statistics are descriptive statistics which summarize data, and inferential statistics which draw conclusions about a population based on a sample taken from the population.

Tables follow the following format – each row describes an individual and each column holds the values of a variable.

An individual is an object described in a set of data. Individuals can be people, animals, or things.

A variable is a characteristic, number, or quantity that can be measured or counted, and that can vary between data units

A categorical variable assigns labels that place each individual into a particular group, call a category.

A quantitative variable take number values that are quantities – counts or measurements.
