Lord Alton - BNO visa scheme amendment - 10 Feb Full Speech in the House of Lords_1

Hong Kong Watch Patron, Lord Alton of Liverpool introduced the amendment to extend the rights to apply for the BNO visa scheme to young Hongkongers born after 1997, together with our Patron, the last Governor of Hong Kong Lord Patten of Barnes, and with support from the former Lord Chancellor Lord Falconer, Bishop of St Albans and across all parties.

Lord Alton said that this amendment "would provide a way out for people of Hong Kong who need it most". Lord Alton also pointed out the challenges that young Hongkongers are currently facing in the asylum system.
