This past week I have been listening to jazz master Jimmy Cobb!! Here is a short solo of his playing on Wes Montgomery Four on Six! His ideas are so clear!! One thing I never noticed that I noticed when transcribing this solo is usage of the hihat. It often doubles the bass drum but also he uses the hihat to elongate phrases and use the open splash to fill in space!! I learned so much from this transcription and I hope you do too!!
