(27 Feb 2019) The foreign ministers of Poland and Hungary announced on Wednesday plans to rebuild an orphanage in the Syrian city of Homs.
The announcement followed a meeting between Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz and his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto in Budapest.
At a news conference, Czaputowicz also said his country is open to a meeting with Israel including other countries from central Europe.
Poland pulled out of a similar meeting last week in Israel after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Poles had cooperated with the Nazis during the Holocaust.
On the question of Britain's exit from the European Union, Czaputowicz said Poland would support delaying Brexit "if it helps work out a better position."
"What is very important for us is that there should not be a no-deal Brexit. This would not be advantageous for the European Union, for Great Britain or for Poland," Czaputowicz added.
