craftinamerica.org. "Wanted: Young Man to Learn Trade" - Graham McKay's talk at the Craft in America Center on the history and legacy of Lowell's Boat Shop. Graham McKay of Lowell's Boat Shop was featured in the INDUSTRY episode of Craft in America.

Graham McKay is a boat builder and manager at Lowell’s Boat Shop, America’s oldest operating boat shop, a national landmark and working museum whose mission is “to preserve and perpetuate the art and craft of wooden boat building and promote the history of Lowell’s Boat Shop and its environs.”

McKay built his first boat in high school and has explored and mastered myriad aspects of the maritime industry, professional sailing, as well as many facets of marine life. After graduating from Harvard, obtaining a master’s degree in Maritime History and Archaeology, he joined the Ocean Classroom Foundation and has been passionate about educating young people ever since.

The Craft in America Center in Los Angeles is a craft-focused library and gallery offering artist talks, workshops, exhibits and educational programs.
