Oval quartz stone and steel spike(Ukontulukset in Finnish) is the original firesteel-system in Scandinavia and in Finland. It has almost totally forget, because the fire making technique has been in lost over 1000 years! But the Viking fire is burning again and I really hope that you guys will start to practice this method. This has been in use in Finland and in Scandinavia way before the more known flint and firesteel method.
