Goliath Grouper Aggregation 2022

Goliath Groupers are some of the largest fish to encounter in the Atlantic Ocean. Nothing can quite compare to sharing close quarters with a group of 500 plus pound fish. These wonderful creatures bless the waters of Palm Beach County, Florida in larger numbers closer to shore during August and September when they gather for their annual spawning aggregation. This footage was taken over several dive days in August and September of 2022. Very much hoping this won't be the last time to see this fish flourishing in these numbers, but Florida Fish and Wildlife is re-openning hunting of these massive fish after decades of protection. Human activity always has consequences.
