Welcome and thanks for taking the time to view this video which is an update to a prior video that I posted several weeks ago regarding no darkmode in VMware Workstation Pro 16 after upgrading to version 16.2.

I'll reference the video here if you may be interested.

Thanks to a recent YouTube commentor on the original video that referenced this workaround as well as the entire YouTube, VMware contributors
and extending communities for the feedback and responses to this issue in a highly welcomed feature within VMware Workstation
as well as it's follow up workaround for this issue.

Darkmode is not currently registered in VMware Workstation Pro 16.2 preferences.

To apply the workaround on a Windows computer, open

C:\Users\"Your user profile"\AppData\Roaming\VMware\preferences.ini file with any text editor.

Add the line:

wsFeatureDarkModeSupported="TRUE"

Please observe case sensitivity on the line.

Save the changes to the file, then close and reopen VMware Workstation for darkmode to be applied.

You can remove this line, save the change and reopen VMware Workstation if you want to return to the standard mode.

This workaround is also referenced in a publicly accessible VMware communities forum which I'll include a link to in the description of this video.

The workaround is not yet included as part of a VMware Workstation software update although this may change
in the future as part of VMware's software release cycle.
