Gujarat Government Sets To Rename Ahmedabad To Karnavati Before The Elections

Ahmedabad, Patra. The Gujarat government has said on Thursday that it is considering changing the name of Ahmedabad to Karnawati. In Gandhinagar Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that the name changed will be effective before the Lok Sabha elections. This statement of the Chief Minister has come after the announcement of the name of Allahabad and Faizabad by the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh to Prayagraj and Ayodhya respectively.
The Chief Minister said, "For a long time people are demanding the name of Ahmedabad as Karnavati. The government is considering this demand. The idea process has been initiated for legal reasons we can do this. After discussions, we will take concrete steps. Asked whether this work will be done before or after the Lok Sabha election, he said, 'Before the election.'
