Описание к видео Unfinished Chiptune Compilation (Read Description)

Hey... It's been some time since this channel got used huh

I'll be honest, the reason this channel has been inactive for so long is because I'm not as invested in chiptune like I once was, as a teenager chiptune was something I couldn't get enough of (especially by composers I really liked) and a big part of that was because at the time chiptune was music I felt invested in like nothing else before, nowadays however I've branched out into non-chiptune / video game music and subsequently my desire to make chiptune myself waned a lot too.

Initially I thought this video would be a quick fun thing to do that could work as both a compilation onto music I made that never released and also as an update about the state of this channel, however this video was actually a massive faff to get made because many of the songs included I actually went back and "updated" because they suffered either from serious syncing issues (which annoyingly I couldn't always fix, as you'll hear for yourself) or one part of a song was more finished then the other (e.g. the lead would last longer then the bass or percussion), that took a lot of time to sort out and is why it's taken until nearly December for this to finally come out (I'm not joking when I say I've wanted this done months ago, literally months).

That said... During the process of compiling my music together, I found some covers that I felt still had a lot of potential or at least were fun to work on, so I've decided that from next year there will be some chiptune covers I will upload (I plan on the final one going out with a bang, you'll understand when that happens, maybe), so this isn't a complete goodbye to me making chiptune just yet (plus there's high quality rips I'm working on that involve chiptune so there's that if you're interested).

The songs are in two sections, the first section for "standard" covers, and the second "high quality rips" section with each track being organised by the original date I created the module in the first place. The only things I didn't include in this video were sound effects, songs that I want to repurpose into something else, or in one case a Title Theme cover of The Flash for the Sega Master System which was so bad I deleted it as it was better starting from scratch.

I won't abandon this channel because I do like making music, however it won't be chiptune anymore (excluding special occasions, like a high quality rip) but rather it would be music I made in a DAW which may contain lyrics? It's something I've thought of doing for a long time and now it seems like the perfect opportunity to tap into that.

If there's any song on here you like and maybe want to work on yourself, shoot me a message and I'll send your the module.

I hope you all enjoy!

Edit: Forgot to include the link to the tweet for the "I tried" song: https://x.com/spankmaths/status/11226... (NSFW warning)

Also to forgot to mention while most of the instruments in this video were created by me, some of them were created by friends or taken from other games (e.g. the percussion in the old version of The Basement In-Game uses percussion from the Wolverine NES game)

Also also I just noticed a typo "however I think scrapped the cover" instead of "however I think I scrapped the cover", gah!

Edit 2: I said "I tried" was done on the SN76489 soundchip when it was actually done on the 2A03, my mistake.
