Whether you love or hate the gore-filled Saw series, there’s little denying the impact that it had on horror in the 2000’s. Before the franchise ushered in a new era of torturous traps and bloody on-screen violence, it made a big splash with this surprisingly psychological entry. Saw was the feature length directorial debut of James Wan, who’s now known for other projects such as Insidious and The Conjuring. The story follows two men placed into a sick game for the crimes of adultery and, well, sneaking around to catch adultery.
