How to use Inkscape to design a station canopy roof truss for your model railway layout

Описание к видео How to use Inkscape to design a station canopy roof truss for your model railway layout

In this video in my Inkscape series, I show how I used Inkscape to design a truss for my N Gauge station canopy/overall roof.

I am about half-way through scratch building a station canopy out of card for my N Scale layout, Chandwell.

I use the free, open-source drawing software, Inkscape, to design the trusses that I cut out and paint to make the overall station roof. I show step-by-step what I did in Inkscape to make the canopy trusses so that you can follow along if you want to scratch build your own station roof.

I am not an engineer or architect, and I think that the actual shape of the trusses is not entirely correct (there's a missing upright beam), but I'm aiming for an overall look on Chandwell and I love the look that I have managed to achieve.

If you have any questions, or would like to see anything in more detail, please drop a message in the comments and I will do my best to help you.
