La Trasfigurazione di Raffaello secondo B. Jatta – Raphael's Transfiguration according to B. Jatta

L’opera è "la più celebrata, la più bella e la più divina" secondo il Vasari. É l'ultimo dipinto eseguito da Raffaello: il suo testamento spirituale.
Direttamente dalla sala VIII della Pinacoteca Vaticana, che dal 1932 custodisce il capolavoro, il Direttore dei Musei Vaticani Barbara Jatta ci incanta con il racconto sulla genesi e sulle vicende che hanno riguardato la famosa pala che raffigura due episodi narrati in successione nel Vangelo di Matteo: la Trasfigurazione in alto, con il Cristo in gloria tra i profeti Mosè ed Elia, e, in basso in primo piano, l'incontro degli Apostoli con il fanciullo ossesso che verrà miracolosamente guarito dal Cristo al suo ritorno dal Monte Tabor.
Un video tributo, seppur ritardato dalla pandemia, al genio urbinate nel V centenario della sua morte.

Directly from Room VIII of the Vatican Pinacoteca, which has housed the masterpiece since 1932, the Director of the Vatican Museums Barbara Jatta enchants us with the story of the genesis and events regarding the altarpiece which illustrates two episodes narrated in succession in the Gospel according to Matthew: the Transfiguration above, with Christ in glory between the prophets Moses and Elijah, and below, in the foreground, the meeting of the Apostles with the obsessed youth who will be miraculously cured by Christ on his return from Mount Tabor.
