Plique-à-jour Enameling: Ancient Techniques With A Modern Twist

Описание к видео Plique-à-jour Enameling: Ancient Techniques With A Modern Twist

Plique-à-jour is an enameling technique that dates back to the 14th century. In French it means "letting in daylight", and is often referred to as enamel stained glass. In this video, Crucible Enameling Instructor, Olga Barmina, will show you how to fill the cutouts on a piece of metal with enamel to create the stained glass effect.

You can learn techniques for enameling in an upcoming Crucible class. See our current offerings at www.thecrucible.org/course-search/enameling. Or learn more about enameling from the comfort of your couch with our Guides to Industrial Arts - www.thecrucible.org/guides/glass-4/

We highly recommend wearing a mask while doing any fine enamel work.
