Disney Star India and Reliance's Viacom18 have merged, including platforms like Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema. The announcement was made on Thursday, November 14. This merger has created the largest entertainment network in India.

The Disney-Reliance Entertainment entity now has 2 OTT platforms, 120 channels, and a viewer base of 750 million. Reliance invested ₹11,500 crore in this joint venture, with the deal valued at ₹70,352 crore.

Post-merger, Reliance holds a 63.16% stake, while Disney holds 36.84%. The new company will be chaired by Nita Ambani, with Uday Shankar serving as Vice Chairperson to provide strategic guidance.
