Stablecoins, the Monetary System of the Future??

Talking about Circle (#USDC), Tether (#USDT) and #stablecoin operations as a possible future basis for a global monetary system.

*TLDR - Stablecoins are touted as an answer to cryptographic money, but really they are neither stable, nor coins.*

Next week at Point Zero Forum in Zurich, one of the more interesting discussions will be "Stablecoins in the monetary system of the future".

There will be an obvious push toward that being seen in the affirmative given the people representing Circle on the panel (Daniel Lee, Gordon Y. Liao). Given that Circle have, unlike their competitors, worked hard to fit within a regulatory framework, respect is due for trying to do the right thing.

But is it the right way? Are stablecoins an answer or a perpetuation of the probelm, perhaps made worse by being at one remove, adding risk.
