WHAT IS PAK POD? ~ PakPod is an innovative, compact tripod. It’s super-versatile, light weight, quick to set up, easy to adjust, and locks down with the twist of a single knob. Initially designed for underwater use, ‘PakPod’ is completely waterproof.

~ ‘PakPod’s’ ‘central hub’ allows each leg to articulate independently of the others through a 180º range of motion. This allows the “1/4-20” stud to positioned vertically, or tipped at angles through a range of almost 90º.

~ ‘PakPod’s’ ‘one touch’ locking buttons on each leg allow for rapid extension and retraction of that leg.

~ Three ‘pivotable stakes’ with adjustable ‘friction tension’ are mounted on three rotatable ‘spoon’ shaped feet. This allows ‘PakPod’ to be staked into substrates. The stakes can also be used to hook the tripod over door tops, window sills, light fixtures, pipes cables and more. The stakes can also be wedged in between board cracks, into car grill patterns, rock formations and more.

~ A total of 36 tie-down points are provided. 12 will accommodate 3/8” cord, the other 24 will accept a 3/16” cord.

~ Pak Pod is engineered using ABS high-impact plastic and stainless steel for strong, stiff, durable light weight performance.

WHAT PROBLEMS DOES IT SOLVE?
~ Most tripods have no means (or very limited means) of securing them to surfaces, substrates or structures. High-end camera/lens combinations can cost thousands of dollars. Traditional tripods leave your unattended gear in perilous positions. Watching a tripod crash to the pavement, or fall overboard, or onto an innocent bystander - is a horrible sight to witness. Pak Pod provides a multitude of ways to conveniently secure your gear in challenging situations and ‘get the shot.’
~ Pivoting stakes, rotatable ‘spoon’ feet and more than a dozen tie down points allow Pak Pod to be secured with tie-wraps, bungie cords, ropes, string, elastic bands, screws, bolts, duct tape and tent stakes.
~ Cinematographers often need to secure more than one piece of gear to a tripod when filming. A female “1/4-20” hole is provided on the underside of ‘PakPod’s’ central hub along the a standard male “1/4-20” stud. Using a male-to-male adapter, a second accessory may be attached to the tripod.
~ If multiple pieces of gear need to be mounted for an interview, (LED lights, microphones, iPads) one ‘PakPod' may be mounted on top of another ‘PakPod' or any tripod with a “1/4-20” stud.
HOW DOES IT MAKE THE USER’S LIFE EASIER?
Pak Pod fits in the bottom of a small day pack. It’s the tripod you will have with you when you need one. Used in combination with a light weight monopod (retrofitted by Deep Blue Design), you will always have two essential pieces of gear on hand that, combined, weigh 1.5 pounds, yet can ‘reach’ more than six feet vertically.
