If you don't think you meet the criteria of being a "real designer" I want to understand that this is not a you problem, it's an industry problem. The graphic design industry persistently excludes people that don't fit the status quo. Elitism in graphic design (the idea that only a group of talented individuals with the proper training are "proper designers") manifests as a lack of support for people, tools and methods that are new or unconventional. If you're on the other side of this and leaving comments like "real designers don't use Canva" and "I'm a professional so I don't use Canva" and "Canva doesn't count as graphic design" what do you gain from excluding people from your industry? Diversity is a real problem in the graphic design industry and when you insist that only real designers are those getting expensive educations and using expensive tools you are actively contributing to this diversity problem. Elitism in graphic design is discouraging and harmful. Your skills and passion are what truly matter. The tools you use don't define your worth as a designer.
