Скачать или смотреть India to Nepal border crossing on foot (Banbasa to Bhimdatta to Nepalgunj)

Crossing the border between India and Nepal can be done in many places. The Banbasa-Bhimdatta or Mahendranagar crossing point is not one of the important ones since it's located far away from Pokhara or Kathmandu. But if you're looking for adventure, or something new, or if you're coming from Uttarakhand then might as well cross through here. Just remember that it will take you about 2 days to get to Pokhara. Buses to Nepalgunj are frequent but it still takes about 8 hours if the roads are not flooded.

I crossed two times at this border checkpoint and this last time was during the raining season so I got stuck another 2 days in Nepalgunj, some bridge on the only "highway" was broken and buses could not cross that way.

Anyway, for those who have time and are looking for a little adventure I recommend this route. You may also stop by in Bardia National Park in Nepal. I haven't been but even from the road this part of Nepal looks beautiful. And there are no tourists around!
