The ISLE Pioneer 2.0 is an affordable, stability-focused option that can suit a wide range of paddlers. Whether that be entry-level paddlers needing extra support, heavier paddlers wanting plenty of volume, or paddlers just looking for a high-capacity SUP to haul gear, bring along pets, or practice SUP yoga. Further, the Pioneer’s lighter build and good accessory kit, put it a peg above most other SUPs in this price range. We’ll dive into this, and more of the details in our video review.

Being 10’6 x 34” wide, we were unsurprised to find the Pioneer 2.0 extremely stable, but making it even more so, is ISLE's careful distribution of its width throughout the entire length of the board rather than having it taper sharply at the nose or tail. And, despite its wider dimensions, the Pioneer 2.0 is only 24 lbs, so it can still get up to a decent cruising pace without much effort.

ISLE was able to make this SUP relatively light for a stability-focused board by using a linear internal drop stitch and dual lays of PVC fused together with heat rather than heavier adhesives. Because of this, the Pioneer 2.0 did fairly well in our bend test, which we’ll walk you through in the video above.

While the Pioneer 2.0 initially seems minimalist on the features front, it does still showcase a good bit of versatility without cluttering the deck space. And, it comes stocked with a handful of great accessories, including a carbon hybrid paddle, which is rare at this price point.

All in all, the Pioneer offers a ton of value at an accessible price.
