Sarva Kaarinyai - who is the creator of all lives in the universe

Athi Rowdraayai - Also the one who is the very form of all ferociousness
Nathaasthasyai - Warding off the evil or demon like characters in all beings

This kauthvam is based on the story of Thillai Kali. Maha Kali is ferociously killing all the demons in the battle. As the legend goes, Kali was so much involved in destroying the demons, in order to pacify her , Lord Shiva laid down before her. Kali as she was proceeding further in the battle, she could not put her lifted feet down looking at Siva. She later understood and the Ugrahaham or the anger got pacified. Also, the Tandava and lasya dance of Siva and Kali is interwoven for the rhythmic passages in this Kauthvam.
