Jimmy Perry, one of the TV show's writers, wrote the lyrics to the show's theme tune, "Who do you think you are kidding, Mr Hitler?" and collaborated on the composing of the music with Derek Taverner. The original theme was sung by wartime entertainer Bud Flanagan, who died less than a year after the recording.
