This 1985 cult classic is a satirical sci-fi horror film written and directed by B-movie auteur Larry Cohen (It's Alive, Q: The Winged Serpent). It is widely celebrated for its biting critique of 1980s consumerism and its unique blend of gross-out horror and eccentric comedy.

The Premise
A mysterious, white, yogurt-like substance is discovered bubbling out of the ground at a mining site. It is found to be sweet, creamy, addictive, and completely calorie-free. Quickly packaged and marketed as "The Stuff," it becomes a nationwide sensation, putting ice cream companies out of business.

However, "The Stuff" is actually a sentient, parasitic organism. It doesn't just taste good—it takes over the brains of those who eat it, turning them into hollow, zombie-like "Stuffies" before consuming them from the inside out.
