Salt Spring, St. James was once just another working-class community on the outskirts of Montego Bay. But between 2015 and 2018, it became the epicenter of one of the deadliest gang wars Jamaica has ever witnessed.

This documentary uncovers how a lottery scam dispute ignited a chain reaction of violence that transformed the parish of St. James into Jamaica’s murder capital — and how three brothers from Salt Spring sat at the center of it all.

At the heart of the story is dancehall artist Squash (Andrae Whittaker) and his older brothers, Daniel “G-Man” Whittaker and Joseph Whittaker. What began as a conflict over scam “leads” — contact lists used to defraud elderly victims overseas — quickly escalated into an all-out gang war between the newly formed G-City Gang and the rival Waltham Bad Breed Gang.

After Joseph Whittaker was murdered in September 2015, Daniel “G-Man” Whittaker built G-City as a ruthless retaliatory force. Armed with high-powered rifles, the gang imposed extortion taxes on scammers, seized leads, forced families to flee their homes, and unleashed a wave of massacres that left hundreds dead.
