Exposed Beams in this Philly Dream Kitchen! 🍅 🍅 🍅

The ultimate kitchen #GlowUp! Before: low ceiling, can lights and just an absence of historic character (head to @thisyunkyhouse to see what this room looked like at the time of purchase, oof!). After: Zach and Hugh have transformed their Manayunk, PA, kitchen into the kind of room where we all want to spend our weekends, baking banana bread (Hugh, send me your recipe) and tending to our grande dame pothos! When @thisyunkyhouse first shared that a renovation was afoot, I wondered “what could they possibly have in store?” The answer: expose the beautiful beams to celebrate the structure and craftsmanship of their late-1800s rowhouse. As Zach shows us, there were a few finds that will make any old house-loving soul’s heart beat a little faster, like Roman numerals etched into the beams and square-head nails. @thisyunkyhouse, your kitchen project is a lesson in #LookUp if ever there was one.
