The labor of life is constant with each drawn sword and breath, and only death provides the final rest, yet that, too, was stolen from you. Do you recall your brief sanctuary in death’s domain before you were cast out?

Ah… I suppose it’s irrelevant. The moonlit symphonies of this forest seldom ponder their existence in order to lift an otherwise desolate landscape. Did the other inhabitants bring you grief? It’s expected, and you’d do best to accept that now. That is, of course, the very truth that governs your kind as well: pleasant here, horrendous there. Yet, you rise again and again to repeat past follies as often as you remedy them... how quaint.

Pay me no more mind: you’ve more cumbersome tasks ahead. Unless, of course, you wish to remain beside me? I no longer take offense to brief visitors—my purpose appears to only be a momentary relief. Though, even my flame, as bright as it is, dims in the long absence of another. I wonder: if none remain to see me, how incandescent could I truly be? Now, off you go; explore the worlds which I cannot.”
